Freehand Embroidery

Betsy draws pictures with needle and thread. Each piece is unique, and each part of a personalized quilt or other fabric piece. Most are inspired and created for family and friends, while some are commissioned by special request.

She was a 2024 award-winner at Fairfax City Spotlight on the Arts contest, the only textile artist to do so. Her winning submittal called the Waugh Church, can be seen at www.fairfaxspotlight.org/art-contest/.

Betsy is a proud member of DelRay Artisans, a nonprofit organization promoting art for the benefit of artists and the community. The gallery is located in the Del Ray neighborhood in Alexandria VA. (www.delrayartisans.org)

She also loves to share her knowledge and skills with others and teaches a class at her local library. (Free Hand Embroidery – Fairfax Library Calendar – Library Home (fairfaxcounty.gov)
